ABOUT
Founded in 1991, Europacable represents approximately 85% of the European wire and cable industry. Our membership includes the largest cablemakers in the world providing global technology leadership, as well as over 200 highly specialized small- and medium sized businesses.
The production scope of our members covers the full range of insulated wires and cables, i.e. energy, industrial, building, automotive, special application, metallic and optical fibre data- and telecommunications wires and cables, as well as winding wires and medium voltage accessories.
Europacable is proud to represent the producers of these high performance products at European level.
Europacable is listed in the European Commission’s transparency register under 453103789-92. We are a co-operating partner of CENELEC.
OUR TEAM
Thomas Neesen
Secretary-General
Thomas Neesen joined Europacable in 1996 from the German Cablemaker Association where he had been in charge of European Affairs. Thomas is responsible for the overall operations and administration of Europacable. In addition to his function in Europacable Thomas currently serves the International Cablemakers Federation (ICF) as Secretary General.

Pierre Gérin
Dep. Secretary General
Pierre Gérin has a 20 years experience at general management level in the IT industry and was MD of a Belgian Chamber of Commerce. From 2000 until 2012 he was MD of the Belgian Cablemaker Association Cablebel. Pierre was appointed Deputy Secretary General of Europacable in 2010 where he focuses on internal organisation and partnership development.

Dr. Volker Wendt
Director Public Affairs
Volker Wendt has over 10 years of experience in the field of EU Public Affairs and communications. At Europacable Volker is responsible for leading the Association’s EU lobbying engagements with a focus on EU Energy, Telecommunications and Fire Safety Policies.
